Minima Hotel Art Room

The Majestic Minima hotel, based in Adelaide, South Australia hand picked a selection of local emerging and semi-established artists to transform a room each in the hotel. I was commissioned along with 45 other artists to paint a room based on the theme of ‘Creativity & Creation’.

My room was inspired by the Cambrian Explosion, a period in evolution around 542 million years ago when the majority of animal phyla appeared on the earth and in the oceans.

During this period, Evolution experimented with the shapes and forms of animals producing some rather unusual creatures in the process. This process of experimentation mirrors the kind of creative process we go through as artists, experimenting with form, colour and shapes before we reach a finished design.

You can view the other 45 rooms on the Majestic Minima website.
